Meta tags used to describe a page content; the meta tag don’t appear on the page itself, but will be machine parsable. Meta tags can be used by browsers to understand the page content and by search engine for keyword optimization process.

Meta elements are usually at the head tag of the page and typically used to specify description, keywords, charset, search engine verifications, author of the page/articles etc.

For Bing

You can get this meta tags from “Configure my site” option in Bing webmaster tool.

For Alexa

<meta name="alexaVerifyID" content="Alexa_will_provide_this" />

You will be given Alexa verification id from “claim your site” option in Alexa Dashboard.

For facebook

<meta property="og:title" content="page_title" />
